Two Identical Cards

A simple and effective technique is featured here.  Choose three colours to work with and find papiers that match the theme.

Cut out, or punch, seven squares that will travel haphazardly along the bottom of the card.  If they are too thin, mount them on some card.  Raise a couple of the squares off the card using mounting tape.

Punch out a butterfly from matching papier, in this instance, a page from an old book.  Attach this to the card using a brad; this brad has been inked and glittered for extra effect.
Emboss the background card.
Put all the pieces together (and if you're on a roll) make a couple of cards at a time.  This is especially useful if you have two friends who share a birthday; a 50-something and a 30-nothing.
